Another year, same messy blog, same Bloggiesta coming to save my lazy ass.
I have drafted a list (a probably futile one) of bloggy tasks that I need to accomplish before the weekend is through. Be prepared to be amazed/frightened.
- Find a new template. Something colorful and bright. Something to do with books as well. If anyone knows where to find a good free one (I’m low on funds) or is willing to help me build one for myself, let me know.
- Announce giveaway winners. Totally forgot in the hazy daze that was March.
- Sign up for all year long challenges.
- Add books from 2011 and 2012 to applicable challenges.
- Create Author Index including website, blog, Twitter, Goodreads.
- Draft reviews for all undrafted books. And schedule into May.
- Tweak the layout. Get rid of unnecessary widgets. Add Avon Addicts badge.
- Tag all read books on Goodreads with descriptive tags.

Ooh, I love your author index idea! I don't have time for it this week, but would you mind if later on, I steal your idea and create one of my own? It would be SO useful to have!
ReplyDeleteGo right ahead and steal it :)
DeleteI love a clean sidebar! I really think we don't need much, and it keep the uploading time great! I'm all caught up on reviews but I need to schedule some more posts. I usually schedule my weekly posts 1-2 weeks in advance so I'm not worrying so much about it. I've got a toddler and he really takes a lot of time. I like to know I don't need to worry about the blog. Marathon sessions are great for me!
ReplyDeleteI say that I want a clean sidebar but I seem to attract clutter. It’s a problem.
DeleteNow you reminded me I need to do some sidebar and widgets related things, too. Oh, well. :) Good luck with your goals and have fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help!
DeleteHi there, Grace, this is our first time to join Bloggiesta, and I could already understand what you mean about this event 'saving us' by giving us the much-needed time to really work on a few stuff on our blog. Would also be doing something Goodreads-related. We are also hoping to draft a few advanced posts, but yours is wow! until May?! That's very goal-directed indeed! :) If you're still toying around with reading challenges, consider joining ours - we're hosting the award-winning-books reading challenge. Might be right up your alley. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a lot on your plate this weekend. I won't be able to start bloggiesta until later tonight but I did spend the last few days cleaning up my goodreads account!
ReplyDeleteCleaning out Goodreads is a task I have a real fear of. I wish you much luck.
DeleteSounds like a lot of people are looking to change templates and layouts this time around, myself included. It's a great goal! Good luck and thanks for joining in Bloggiesta!

A tired layout is the worst. Every time I look at the stark whiteness, I get a bit angry although I love the header and the design.
DeleteI love your list! I could probably help you with a background at least, but I don't know about a whole template (I'm still kind of new to that). Let me know (=
ReplyDeleteHere's my list!

I would definitely love help with a background. It’s mainly the whitness that is causing my frustration. Thank you!
DeleteGood questions about the free templates...I'm not sure...ask Twitter maybe, lol.
ReplyDeleteAvon addicts badge...where do I get one of those?!
Good luck this weekend!
I will try to ask Twitter again :D
DeleteTee Hee. It’s a little club of superfans that Avon Romance has put together and it’s a big bunch of awesome. The badge should be up on the sidebar o’doom tomorrow.
Great list! I'm happy that this came around so I could get my butt in gear, too. I've already cleaned out unnecessary things from my sidebars, but I think I could do more ... Hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteBloggiesta is a blogging necessity for me. It definitely get my lazy butt in gear.
DeleteI like your blog header and the look of your blog, it's clean, simple, pretty and it looks big. But you've probably tired of it. I know I'm a little tired of my blog look but I don't know what I want to change it to, yet.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of creating an Author Index. I was thinking about doing something like that, too!
Good luck with it and have fun, Grace!
Thanks! I am very tired of it but I can't find anything either so I am stuck.
DeleteBlogger has lots of new ways for you to customize your blog now. I've just been playing with the options.
ReplyDeleteBuona fortuna!
I'm Bloggista-ing all weekend! I love to have old and new blogging friends stop by and say hello!
How are you doing with your Bloggiesta tasks? I like your idea of creating an Author Index. Long ago I started a spreadsheet with my favorite authors' contact info, when they normally released a new book, etc., but I didn't keep up with it. Maybe, I need to brush the dust of it...
ReplyDeleteOff the topic: did I read it correctly? You've read 87 books so far and your goal is 500?!? Wow... really that's all I can say. That, and, I am in AWE! I hope you reach your reading goal. I'll live vicariously through you! =)
Have a productive Bloggiesta day!
Good luck on your bloggiesta goals! I really like your header. I'm not sure if you changed it yet, but I think it is really lovely.
