Summary:

She married him to save face, but will it be at her heart’s expense?

Megan Coffman needs to put her divorce from one of rock and roll’s biggest womanizers behind her—fast. Dubbed “Poor Meg” by the music media, she’s sick of being pitied and thinks the best way to show the public she’s moved on is to flash her brand new engagement ring. But now she needs a man and a wedding to go with it...

Thirty-five year old Russian expatriate Seth “Red” Rozhkov likes the idea of an instant family and agrees to play husband for a year for a virtual stranger. Women just want him for one thing anyway, and it’s not happily-ever-after. A mutual friend swears if Red plays his cards right, he could have Meg for keeps. He’s willing to try.

Meg finds Red an enigma. He’s a gentle giant, solicitous almost to a fault—and the no-strings-attached sex is amazing, but she’s used to being used. What’s Red getting out of the deal? How can she trust a man who hasn’t asked her for anything in return?

My Review:

Intro Babble: This is my first book by Holley Trent. So I wasn't really sure what I was getting into when I started reading but I really enjoyed this book.

Characters:

Heroine: Meg-She was such a strong character. And by strong I mean that there is not a demure bone in her body. I appreciated that so much. She also had a couple of issues with relationships caused by past relationships that created some emotional depth to her character.

Hero: Seth-I loved Seth. I felt sort of bad for Seth. He was a sweet and sort of shy hero. Such a contrast to the brash Meg. He kind of had to approach her in the way one would approach a feral wildcat. Cautiously and with an escape plan.

Chemistry: If there is one plot device that I love and I don't see much of, it is the faked marriage/relationship plot. It is such an angsty little tidbit of a storyline. And it worked so well in this one. Mainly because the personalities of our hero and heroine were so different but a way where different works.

 Chemistry Rating:

Ending Babble: At first, I was unsure if this was going to work for me. I approach new to me author very cautiously at times. I have a comfort zone and I like it there. But Holley Trent is awesome and this book is great. I will be playing catchup with this series. Just based on the general awesomeness of Seth. Any author who can write a hero like that is a author I need to read more.
