She won’t be tamed.
A fiery, unconventional Scot, Adaira Ferguson wears breeches, swears, and has no more desire to marry than she does to follow society’s dictates of appropriate behavior. She trusts no man with the secret she desperately protects.
He can’t forget.
Haunted by his past, Roark, The Earl of Clarendon, rigidly adheres to propriety, holding himself and those around him to the highest standards, no matter the cost. Betrayed once, he’s guarded and leery of all women.
Mistaking Roark for a known spy, Adaira imprisons him. Infuriated, he vows vengeance. Realizing her error, she’s appalled and releases him, but he’s not satisfied with his freedom. Roark is determined to transform Adaira from an ill-mannered hoyden to a lady of refinement.
He succeeds only to discover, he preferred the free-spirited Scottish lass who first captured his heart.

My Review:

Intro: Yesterday was quite a day. We got a new dog so we spent the day getting to know each other. He's a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix named Rambo and he's just perfect. I posted pics of him on my Twitter account. I also spent yesterday attempting to draft my review of this book in spite of my distractions.

Heroine: Adaira- I absolutely loved her. She was spirited and strong. She had a nice natural spunk to her that I loved to find in a heroine. She was a bit stubborn and it did wear on my nerves occasionally but I really did like her.

Hero: Roark- He was so different from what I am used to but he's also exactly what I am used to. He's sort of by the book. Not stodgy but very buttoned up. But there was also a depth of emotion to him that I really liked.

Chemistry: I didn't really begin to understand these two until I saw them as a couple. Between Adaira's spunk and Roark's more quiet was amazing. Their personalities clashed and complemented at the same time. It was perfect and while it was not quite fireworks, it worked well.

Chemistry Rating:

Conclusion-I really loved this book. Quite a bit. Enough to want to go back and read the previous books in this series. I loved how different Roark and Adaira were but how well they worked in spite of that. I also really enjoyed the complexity of the plot and how Cameron was able to weave so many plotlines together in such a great way.
