Summary:

Fans of historical romance authors Lorraine Heath and Sophie Jordan will adore Vivienne Lorret's latest Wallflower Wedding novel.

Delaney McFarland is on the hunt for a husband—preferably one who needs her embarrassingly large dowry more than a dutiful wife. After the unspeakable incident at her debut, Delaney knows marrying for love is off the table, but a marriage of convenience—one that leaves her free to live the life she chooses—is the next best thing, never mind what that arrogant, devilishly handsome Mr. Croft thinks. Delaney plans to marry for money … or not at all.

Ever since the fiery redhead burst into his life—in a most memorable way—Griffin Croft hasn't been able to get Miss McFarland out of his mind. Now, with the maddening woman determined to hand over her fortune to a rake, Griffin knows he must step in. He must help her. He must not kiss her. But when Griffin's noble intentions flee in a moment of unexpected passion, his true course becomes clear: tame Delaney's wild heart and save her from a fate worse than death … a life without love.

My Review:

Intro: I have been finding life a bit difficult lately. Trying to figure out how to live life without the use of one of my fingers has been an adjustment. But I have finally figured out that I can use my Dragon Assistant to type.

I absolutely loved the previous books in this series. I loved Daring Miss Danvers and Winning Miss Wakefield was a reading highlight of the year so far. I have been looking forward to this one in a big way.

Characters:

Heroine: Delaney-I am surprised by how much I liked her even though I spent a good portion of the book borderline annoyed with her. That’s a rare achievement. Usually if the heroine annoys me, it’s to the point of putting the book down. But I ended up really liking her. She was smart as a whip and a truly enjoyable character to follow.

Hero: Griffin-I have loved heroes with the name Griffin since my Party of Five fangirl days. I liked how upfront he was and how he dealt with Delaney’s unwillingness to marry. He was the one doing the chasing and I really liked that.

Chemistry: I love when two strong personalities combine in romance novels to create a completely believable couple. It doesn’t happen often but it did happen here. Griffin and Delaney were lovely together. I think they run a close second to Merribeth and Bane for me in this series.

Chemistry Rating:

Conclusion: Vivienne Lorret is now officially one of my favorites. She is on my auto-buy list. I love her writing style and the way she draws her characters. Her heroes are also not to be missed—and I don’t say this often---but her heroines are awesome too.

Author Info
I fell in love with fairy tales and the romance behind happily ever after at a very young age. Like a lot of you, I tweaked the fables bit by bit in my imagination until they suited me perfectly. By the time I was eleven, a teacher encouraged me to start writing.
Throughout the years that followed, my teachers remained my most fervent supporters, giving me the tools I needed to continue my journey as a writer.
My husband and I have two teenage boys, who are heroes in their own right. For now, we live in a small Midwestern town near Lake Michigan…until a time in the future when a new adventure calls us to other shores.
I am currently working on my next novel, but I always enjoy hearing from my readers. Feel free to email me at vivienne@vivlorret.net

  2. Hello Vivienne! Have loved historical romances since my high school years...and still continuing. I never get tired of them. I love the historical aspect...and the customs and romance. Just do, no ifs, ands or buts about it. My family used to laugh...but now are accepting that this is my choice. Sometimes I venture into historical romances with suspense/intrigue too. In any event, glad I'm "getting to know you" on this tour. jdh2690@gmail.com
