Intro: I haven’t read many historicals lately. And that is odd for me. But I am so so happy to have read this one because Hannah Howell is a favorite of mine.
Heroine: Catrin-Catrin was a lovely character. She was so likable and kind. She was one of the easier to like heroines I have come across recently. I loved that she was willing to do anything for her son and never lost her strength.
Hero: Orion-First of all, I loved his name. That is quite important to me. I am an odd duck. I loved him as much as I loved Catrin. I thought he was a great hero. I loved how he treated his children.
Chemistry: I wasn’t necessarily expected to be really impressed with Catrin and Orion’s chemistry but I really was. Their chemistry was intense and they were just perfect together.
Conclusion: I walked into this book expecting a straight up historical romance but I was really pleased to see some elements of paranormal in there. And, to be honest, paranormal is not really my favorite thing but I really thought it worked well here.
Overall, this was a great read and Hannah Howell is a terrific author.
