In the third novel in Maya Rodale’s charming Wallflower series, London’s Least Likely to Be Caught in a Compromising Position finds temptation in a devilishly handsome stranger . . .

Miss Prudence Merryweather Payton has a secret.

Everyone knows that she’s the only graduate from her finishing school to remain unwed on her fourth season-but no one knows why. With her romantic illusions shattered after being compromised against her will, Prudence accepts a proposal even though her betrothed is not exactly a knight in shining armor. When he cowardly pushes her out of their stagecoach to divert a highwayman, she vows never to trust another man again.

John Roark, Viscount Castleton, is nobody’s hero.

He’s a blue-eyed charmer with a mysterious past and ambitious plans for his future-that do not include a wife. When he finds himself stranded at a country inn with a captivating young woman, a delicate dance of seduction ensues. He knows he should keep his distance. And he definitely shouldn’t start falling in love with her.

When Prudence’s dark past comes back to haunt her, John must protect her-even though he risks revealing his own secrets that could destroy his future.

My Review:

Intro: This is one of the reviews I wrote during my review during the epic review binge this weekend. I am also typing out this review with one hand due to my dog requesting head pats so pardon any spelling errors.

I loved this book. If I was to create a top 10 list of favorite authors—which I won’t because it would cause an existential crisis—Maya Rodale would most definitely be on it and she is one of those authors that I buy more than one copy of each of her books.

Heroine: Prudence-I loved her. She had such a compelling strength about her. There was nothing weak to her characters and I loved that. She was smart and strong and she was one of the few heroines that I have read recently that didn’t annoy me.

Hero: John-I kind of fell in love with him instantly. He was just a compelling hero—a nice guy with a witty sense of humor and a bit of a scamp. I loved him. I didn’t expect to love him as much as I did.

Chemistry: I loved the slow burn of these two. The romance took time to develop and it wasn’t instantaneous. But I don’t think I have ever fangirled over a couple in a romance novel the way I fangirled over Prudence and John. They were amazing together. I also have to say that they kick you a bit in the emotional places.

Chemistry Rating:

Conclusion: Maya Rodale can do no wrong. This one was amazing. I love the development of the romance and how it took time for the connection to build. I fangirled over this one. I really did. Maya Rodale is one of those authors who can write a gardening book and I will buy it and read it even though I kill plants just by looking at them too hard.
